This year's event was held in early March and it was a huge success with nearly 300 brides in attendance.  The "Return to Elegance Bridal Fair"  -- the Rockford region's biggest and best Bridal Fair includes over 60 vendors, a gourmet luncheon and an opportunity for Brides and other guests to review and select the latest in bridal services for your special day.  Next year, plan to participate, as always, the first Sunday in March (March 1, 2009).

Cliffbreakers St. Patrick's Day Parade and Party (March 15)

For the first time ever, Cliffbreakers and the Irish Marching Society partnered to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the traditional Parade through Rockford and the all-new party at Cliffbreakers.  We walked the parade route alongside the Cliffbreakers Excalibur limousine.  Over 800 locals then enjoyed traditional Irish fare and Guiness, Harp, Irish Whiskey and many other choices of beverages.  Many people took advantage of our Lexington Hotel luxurious suites for a safe end to a complete celebration.   The Irish Marching Society was SO happy with the outstanding food, the quality of the service and the gracious welcome they felt at Cliffbreakers, they are already anxious to make plans for next year's event --- even bigger and better !

Cliffbreakers Johnnie Kaye Big Band Dance Weekend (March 28-30)

Ballroom dancing fans from all over the midwest joined us this weekend for a spectacular celebration of life, with big band music and dancing provided by Johnnie Kaye and his Orchestra and the Cliffbreakers team.  Guests enjoyed the wonderful cocktails and appetizers on Friday evening, beautiful multi-course dinner with wine on Saturday and an excellent Champagne Sunday Brunch -- all in the uncompromising beauty of the Cliffbreakers Renaissance ballroom.   The event was such a hit with the Guests, they've asked that we invited Johnnie Kaye back again soon to repeat the fun !   Watch for more details to come. 

Northern Illinois Companies Use State-of-the-Art Process to Create Bronze Models of Michelangelo Statues

How many businesses can say they worked with the art of the most famous sculptor of all-time - Michelangelo Buonarroti Art Casting of Illinois in Oregon, and the EIGERlab in Rockford can. These two companies worked together to bring the art of Michelangelo to the United States. For a limited time in April, art aficionados can view bronzes cast directly from Michelangelo's original study models. These unique pieces, authenticated by the Casa Buonarroti Museum in Florence, are made with a state-of-the-art scanning and casting process from Michelangelo's early models of famous sculptures. The set of six bronze sculptures will be on display at Rockford's Golan-Liberman Contemporary Art Gallery, 2209 E. State St., for one week starting April 11, 2008. Rockford is the first location for public viewing of the sculptures. Bronze castings of Michelangelo models will be on display for sale at the gallery.
